It’s been one week since the doors of CTN animation expo opened… and we have to say, we are already feeling nostalgic! We were absolutely amazed by the talented and inspiring animation students and professionals… not to mention the 75 degree weather, as Focal Press is based outside of Boston! We want to thank Tina Price and CTN for a fantastic and memorable weekend, as well as to all of the attendees who stopped by our booth and gave us something to smile about!

Because we wish the conference never ended, we are still offering a 20% discount on all of our books! Use discount code GRK61 on all Focal Press books when ordering through Free shipping  in the US and Canada for orders over $35 – just in time for the holidays!

Here are our highlights from the weekend…

Fresh off the plane, we were welcomed by boxes upon boxes of books… we cleaned up pretty nicely, if I do say so myself!

Throughout the weekend, our authors stopped by to sign books, conduct impromptu portfolio reviews, provide career advice, and, quite frankly, be awesome. Thank you to Ron Husband, Mike Mattesi, Tom Bancroft, Tony Bancroft, and Floyd Norman for participating and offering their time!

Here are some of our favorite shots…

Floyd Norman, author of Animated Life, stopped by to sign books and pass out some of his business cards. We love the networking!

The official sketch artist for the weekend and Focal author, Ron Husband, signed quite a few books… in fact, he completely sold out!

Hot off the presses! Tony Bancroft showcased his new book, Directing for Animation… and gave us a personalized note, which has found a perfect spot in our office!

Lastly, one of our favorite parts of the weekend was when we were lucky enough to witness all of the talent at the conference! We hosted a “Draw to Win” contest, in which attendees drew whatever their hearts desired… though it did prove to be a bit difficult, as we introduced a new medium… dry erase boards!

One CTNer even drew our editor and marketing manager! You can find all of the submissions on our Facebook page!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth… we can’t wait for CTN2014 – we hope to see you there, as well!
